 20 years ago, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra made a film about Hrithik Roshan, Mission Kashmir. Rajkumar Hirani was the film editor in that film. Vidhu has remembered Kashmir again in the film Shikara after the year 2000. Between Mission Kashmir and Shikara, Vidhu made only two films, Eklavya and Broken Horse. Both were a super flop.


Vidhu has made a big name in the Hindi cinema with the films Khamosh and Parinda. As a producer, he has also made blockbuster films like 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju apart from the Munnabhai series. Rajkumar Hirani was the director of all these films. Vidhu has taken up the re-direction in the film Shikara and the trailer released on Tuesday tells that Vidhu's charisma is no longer the life he was known for.

It takes a love story to see Shikara. His film Pari Bhi was a love story with Bobby Deol and Neha. From there, the sun of Vidhu began to mold. The trailer of Shikara repeatedly speaks of the exodus of Hindus from Kashmir. When the story of the love story is sold by making the film's USP, then what is the intention of the director? The trailer states that then four lakh Kashmiri Pandits were rendered homeless in their own country.
